We study the correspondence that connects space of solutions General Relativity (GR) with Ricci-based Gravity theories (RBGs) $f(R,Q)$ type in metric-affine formulation, where $Q=R_{(\mu\nu)}R^{(\mu\nu)}$. focus on case scalar matter and show when one considers a free massless GR frame, important simplifications arise allow to establish for arbitrary Lagrangian. particularize analysis quadratic theory use spherically symmetric, static solution Jannis-Newman-Winicour as seed generate new compact objects our target theory. find two different types emerge, representing naked singularities another corresponding asymmetric wormholes bounded curvature scalars everywhere. The latter solutions, nonetheless, are geodesically incomplete.
